Overview:
This 16-hour course focuses on Lean and Six Sigma problem solving concepts (process skill improvement). Overall Lean and Six Sigma concepts and principles will be reviewed to provide the knowledge and foundation the organization needs for future Lean and Six Sigma activities focuses on process improvement and waste elimination. Upon successful completion of the 16-hour course, students will be Lean and Six Sigma Yellow Belt certified. Training is delivered in two 8-hour days.

Course Outline:
This course focuses on business process improvement utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodology throughout each phase of the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) model. The 10 step model includes:

  1. Voice of the Customer
  2. Goal Setting and Project Alignment
  3. Team Formation
  4. Process Overview
  5. Data Collection
  6. Establishing Baseline Metrics
  7. Identifying and Prioritizing Problems
  8. Implementing Optimum Solutions
  9. Piloting and Control Plans

Training for Credit:
Students who successfully complete the training course will be eligible to receive 1 college credit(s).

Assessment:
A post-training assessment will be administered to measure student’s knowledge and retention of training material. Upon successful completion of the 16-hour training course, student will be Lean and Six Sigma Yellow Belt certified.
